I do....yep 3.1 was first but 3.5 was the precursor to 95.
All of which, including offerings from Apple, were ripoffs of a Xerox designed GUI....and prior to that Doug Englebart's famous but forgotten system...
GEM OS was also another, loaded on the PC512, I still have one in the loft, and a PCDOS 8086 at 4.77Mhz, single 360k FDD and green screen lol, has a 14.4 dial up modem, used it with prestel way before the net
Gave the TDM a wash, rode it, sadly to work

Doug Englebart's 'mother of all demos' ...first hyperlinking scripting language, first GUI, first computer mouse, first multimedia presentation over distances beyond next door rooms..... all in 1968
At 2m22s in this you see what Steve Jobs stole, shared with Bill Gates, and it makes their longrunning court battle over who invented the GUI pretty insignificant !
Quote:was windows 3.1 not first after DOS 6? and who remembers Word Perfect use to be market leader - and a hard drive measured in MB
Â
Windows 3.0 was the first widely spread Windows version, 3.11 was the first version prepared for networking. DOS was part of the Windows stack until Windows 2000, which was based on NT platform.Â
WordPerfect was my way into computers, spending free hours a couple of weeks made me a "guru" from then on. A couple of years later I started my programming career, and I'm still there. Believe I would still enjoy using WP 5.1, thoughÂ
Fault finding eleci problems, she has let me down last time i was riding.had to get push start and all.second reg/rec gone in so time to finally get round to finding the problem wires.lookin forward to riding wit confidence again that shes not goin to die on me
Swapped handlebars for the non-standard ones on my xj600. They're lower, wider and the sweep back is less than srandard 9er ones..... seem okay....maybe a bit too low

Also closed up the AIS system again. After trying to attach an LED to the wiring it seemed like an LED interfered with the sensing or driving being used to control the AIS solenoid.
Got me some brake cleaner for the first time ever in 20+ years of motorcycling.
Attacked the bobbins on the front discs. (Much better feel) and way easier too using brake cleaner.
On return, noticed that one disc was running a little warmer than the other, so did some caliper servicing.
Spied what may have been a bit of perished dust seal protruding from an offending brake piston. (So carefully pulled it free, what could possibly go wrong? 6mm)
Piston action much improved. May add caliper overhaul to winter list.
Determined that dropping the forks by 10mm has made the steering much lighter + positive and reducing damping has worked. (So will stick with that this Summer)
Â
Winter List = valve clearances / carb balance / chain and sprocket set due / caliper overhaul poss. / K&N clean
Mr Henty popped over to remove me rear wheel so I can get the flat sorted. He also took much pleasure in fitting this lovely carbon dash...        [attachment=o8052][attachment=o8053]
