What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
Quote:Yesterday, took the 9'er to the local jetwash to clean the engine and swinger.  Engine looks a bit cleaner but it didn't touch the crap on the swinger.  Oiled and adjusted the drivechain and went for a pootle in the lovely sunshine. Smile
A wetted rag soaked in Hammerite brush cleaner worked wonders on my swingarm yesterday when i had the back wheel off. White spirit is also a good degreaser, also Gunk engine cleaner.

If you want to go solvent free then a dishwasher tablet dissolved in a cup or less of hot water and repeated applications is quite good (use rubber gloves)
<p style="text-align:center;">Ohlins, PC3, fuel cut defeat, +4deg timing, 17" front wheel.

Do they fit the 3vd? In the list it just says TDM900.

I didn't think there was anything other than standard replacement for the 3vd.

Pulled the trigger on the CRF 1000 L, Delivery is still a little uncertain, about 22th week. Today I measured the remaining rubber on my pr3 rear and am pondering, if I should mount a new one or let the TDM sit in the garage and just ride the XT till the AT arrives. Took the XT for a little 230km coffee run with the wife on the back and my wingman Paul with his STen. So kind of 1.5 Super Tens on the road today Wink

Still undecided, if I try to do the run-in period on the OEM tyres or let the dealer mount decent rubber from the start. Must ask about the costs there.

Ah, and the XT might be modded a little more. New chain kit with 2 more teeth on the rear sprocket and a dynojet kit would be a nice addition to the wiseco piston and the stainless headers. End can could do with sandblast and repaint. Hmm....

I've got all the cleaning chems and wooden scrapers, was hoping I'd get some of the layers removed first.  Don't think it's been cleaned under the bike before.......ever. Lol

The main listing is for the 850 think the example they used is for the 900 that's all

Mine is a 96 4TX think they are the same as the 3DV

You just send them a message when you order, model year then the colour and type of lever you want

Hope that helps

Timbo 😀

PS just had a look the listing for the 850 seems to have gone so you might be better off checking they still do them
New side cases fitted  Smile

Removed the exhaust, lucky nothing was siezed. Smile  Had to remove the front sprocket outer cover and side infil panel to get at the lambda sensor wiring and connector.  Just need to clean it now.

I can now access the engine better to clean it.

Deffo need a centrestand or abba stand, or even a rear paddock stand and bobbins, it's a pain working on the bike using the sidestand.  Why Yamaha routed the rear brake hose under the swinger is beyond me.

So far.... Working on the bike  900 0-1 850 Tongue
Rode it. Smile  to sunny Hunny and back, the snot oiler sort of over oiled because I forgot I left it in prime. managed to avoid all the rain though just in time. Nothing broke and nothing fell off.
