Quote:I'll more than likely be there, :good:Â Â could do with some handguards though.
Oh dear, wait till Dablik sees this post. You rode with barbed wire grips & cut the fingers out of yer gloves till you got a niner.
Â
I'm attending one of these brekkies when the weather gets a bit better & this years hols entitlement can be booked at work because it will involve a hotel stop in Lincoln(don't ask) :good:
I have been along to this myself and they were a friendly and knowledgeable bunch not just on BMW GS bikes they ride. I always like to see the older bikes being catered for and these lads have bikes right back to the 70's.
It takes skill and patience to keep these old bikes going much like the 850's we ride in this club.
We TDM riders were made more than welcome and some of the engineering they use on the GS series of bikes, can easily be made to cross over to other bikes.
I have to say the quality of the mods they had made were second to none, particularly the stainless welds on some of the pannier tool boxes.
Â
Although I would never normally choose a BMW myself, I can still appreciate the efforts that those who do ride them, put into their bikes.
Â
If BMW handguards have the same disappearing properties of the 850 frame plugs, more than one 1150GS owner will be keeping an eye on the TDM boys.
Â
You will go a long way to get a better brekky anywhere, well worth a visit if only for the grub. You can see how the GS marque has piled on the pounds over the years when they are lined up together.
I still like the simplicity of the air heads. An odd concept, two cylinders sticking out, bit it seems to have lasted the test of time.
That attitude is a shame, as they're no where near as anal in attitude as some on here ! Â There's always a very varied selection of bikes & makes at the cafe. And as Lee says, there's a wealth of engineering experience to draw on in the group.
The East Midlands GSers are a broad church & nowhere near as narrow minded as some on here. We certainly hold a lot more respect for TDM's & Carpe than is shown here
Maybe some of you should extract your heads from your arseholes & look around a bit, or are you scared you might actually enjoy a bit of banter with another group ?Â
Â
If you don't want t come along, then ignore the post - no need to slag off a genuine invitation.
Â
Besides that, the food is bloody excellent  :good:
I think he's being a wind up. God help us when MotoGP starts up again

Â
Yeah, it does that. Might only be showers by the time Satdi arrives though.
Time to own up.....if I lived local I would attend also, It's bike related so that's enough for me to get interested, the Panther owners club have an annual rally close to me and try not to miss that either!...It's all about bikes!!!!!!!!!!
Don't get confused between my personality
and my attitude. My personality is who I am,
my attitude depends on who YOU are!

Skinny people are easy to kidnap.....Stay safe and eat cake!!!!!
Quote:I went a rideout with the Scottish section of the BMW club in 2014 and a nice bunch they were to :good: all sorts there, old and new, even a Ural sidecar outfit and a few that had jumped ship to Pans etc, but it didn't stop me asking why they bought a pile of crap
