Didn't fancy the £50 train fare on top of the £20 entrance and no doubt £30 on food/drink during the day. Could fill up the TDM 3 times AND have a night in the lakes for the same.

Opted to visit the Manchester Bike Show in April instead, nearer to home and rave reviews for 2014 and 2015.

Have a great time though, been a few times over the years and worth it if you're happy with the cost.

Going with mates (yes  I have some) on Thursday 3rd. Looking for bargains which turn out not to be and generally behaving like a teenager again. Then back to Bromsgrove for a beer and curry, what could be more perfect?

Ian - posted up on CMC - Monday 30th is when we'll be going  :good:

Nice one Mick. :good:  What time are we setting off ?
SR would you pleaseeeeeeeeeee take a few pics  of Suzuki's new SV650.

I wanted one first time round but it wasn't possible. Wub

Been on their web & all the photos are taken from a dumb angle by some arty farty photographer.

I'll have a go Sam.  You wanting them with sminky model or no sminky model ? Smile

Is it so different from previous SVs?
Blue 04 TDM,PR2 rear Roadsmart front, Yamaha topox, Givi E360 panniers, PL pannier holders, BMW handguards, Yamaha touring screen, Scottoiler, 12v ciggie socket, carbon core HT leads

Gorn Confusedorry:
With sminkys please Studs. Purely to gauge the size of the machine you understand :blush2:

They dropped the naked one with normal handlebars Muddy & the clip on ones would wreck my wrist. (I have a broken scaphoid)

Plus the new one has the twin spark heads & I like the frame. I have ridden the V Strom several times & its soo smooth.

I have a passion for naked bikes & this one has really caught my eye.

That said I had to drop what I was doing & go to Ireland at a moments notice in the pouring rain last month & the Tiger was superb.

We will see

Mick, Elliot and myself will be over at the National Motorcycle Museum cafe on Monday at around 10am for a brekky, then going over to the NEC in the car for around 11am.  Apparently, the brekky's are cheaper and better and the car park is free. Big Grin

Anyone up for a meet up then, or later in the day ?
Sorry Studs with one thing & another  I have let this creep up on me again. Perhaps next year.

Any its not stopped pissing down up here for three full weeks so it would have been the train anyway.

Have a great day.

BTW I am planning to attend one of your breakfasts next summer & combine it with a stopover in LIncoln so give me a shout when you are planning one. :good:

Ah well, at least you won't get the chance to impulse buy a new bike eh Sam. Lol
Had a great day out, totally knackered now though.  Will post up some pics when I've sorted them.
Brekky at the National Motorcycle Museum was excellent.  Fresh and plentiful, if a tad more expensive than it was in previous years.

The new MT10 was on display.  Whilst I liked the looks, the size of it disappointed, it's a wee thing !

[attachment=o7077]

After seeing the photos, I'd expected it to be a rip snortling beastly looker of a bike, oozing testosterone and uber manliness.  Seemed to work for Alunl tho !  Big Grin

[attachment=o7071]

The Carbon Diavel was more like it

[attachment=o7074]

[attachment=o7076]

Norton displayed their wares, some a tad weird, like this one kitted with plastic machine guns Huh

[attachment=o7075]

Others seemed more in line with what you'd expect from Norton, like this beauty.

[attachment=o7079]

Speaking of beauties Big Grin

[attachment=o7086]

I managed to get their attention without being arrested !

[attachment=o7087]

They say beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, waddya all reckon to this ?

[attachment=o7072]

[attachment=o7073]

Sidey's 'boy' Christopher, still growing I reckon ! Lol

[attachment=o7085]

And finally, as promised, some photos for Tintin of the SV650's on display, there were loads of 'em !

[attachment=o7080][attachment=o7081][attachment=o7082][attachment=o7083][attachment=o7084]

I ended up leaving with a new flip front helmet, an LS2 Strobe, for £75.  It was a great fit compared to my Caberg, slightly better quality too.  Also got some Richa gloves, reduced from £39.99 to £19.99 and a pack of 3 Oxford Comfy's that were on special offer when booking the ticket. :good:

Great to meet up with Sidey and the boy, as always, and also to meet up with Alunl for the first time. :good:

Sorry I didn't phone you Favs, it was all over before I realised I hadn't phoned you mate. :blush2:
