Quote:Arthur, Was this just glued on or did it need a bolt too?

Quote:i sent the seller a message about the Scorpion cans asking if they came with the mounting straps and he said he had a pair off a different set of cans he would send with them.Did you get the straps as well ?
Tony, they came with a couple of straps but with mismatched rubbers. No problem, I have some rubber sheets in the garage and I can sort a couple of strips out or buy 2 new s/s straps from Fleabay, tenner each. The cans are in great condition with the Scorpion logo and bs stamp engraved on each end, but without the large logo on the side. Again though, Fleabay have them for £13 pair so i'll have a couple. I'll post pics when I fit them. Happy bunny if they work without fettling the fueling. Oh, not sure if the main stand will be a factor either when fitted.........

What have I done to my TDM today? Well, whipped off the pipes and collector box (chr*st they weigh some!) and took off the nuts from the studs in the head to remove the front pipe. All four nuts came off, the collars are both loose around the outer studs but NOT the inner - result - front pipe still firmly in place. Gentle leverage not working, obviously concerned about doing something which might compromise (ie snap off) the offending inner studs  - I have traumatic memories of doing just this to a water pump on a Mk1 Golf Gti way back in m'youth- so, folks, any suggestions please? At the moment I am slathering it in more WD40 and waiting but is there a more definitive technique?Â

I had this issue on a FZR 1000 I'm currently rebuilding. WD not too good for this, try 3 in 1 penetrating fluid. I ended up using a large flat blade screwdriver to lever under and try and get the collars moving and applying more fluid as I went. I was replacing studs and exhaust so I didn't mind about any damage incurred. You might need to try and get studs moving if you can get two nuts to lock on the thread...long shot but worth ago if yer stuck.
The S/S aftermarket downpipes can be a swine to remove as they don't line up 100% and take some persuading to get on. Just keep wigglin' and leverin' and once one works loose the other should come off easily. Don't use a hammer as it can crack the casing and leave you with coolant running out the hole.
Cheers, Schmoo9, will get the 3in1 on it instead. Unfortunately not enough stud exposed to get two nuts on but I'll persevere with penetrating oil and as Studley Ramrod suggests it'll be gingerly going at it with the big screwdriver.Â
Been a busy few days, new Airblade screen, short levers, HID light upgrade, hand guards and now finally finished the iPhone 6 sat nav mount. I'm using a Biologic case & mount and wanted something that fitted neatly under the screen.
Don't look too back if I say myself... But it hasn't come with problems, out of the blue the bike turns over no problem the fuel pumps primes but struggles to fire?

Yeah, I've done the IAM. And yeah, I recommend it (any so-called 'advanced training' come to that; not just IAM): A low cost training course based on the system used by the police, which is largely common sense once pointed out, making one smoother, quicker and safer. What's not to like? And why would one not want to tell others? :hide:

Looks good - I'm curious, what's the bar thing that the phone case mount is attached to? I've been trying to figure out how to do something similar.
Question re screen trim... Is this for appearance only or does it do anything? I didn't bother to put on the trim that came with our Madstad screen but wondered if I should.
