New Boots
£630 may be expensive, but what would you be willing to pay for a new pair on ankles?

Have a look at the feet of the popular road racers ( Michael Dunlop etc ) and see what their choice is!

I just had a look...Daytonas...must be good.
Have a look at what Crutchlow, Lorenzo and others were wearing when they bust their feet up. Tongue
No flip-flops, they all have race boots.

Lol, I'm guessing...was it Daytona's and Alpinestars?!

But they were prob travelling at a fair bit more speed than us TDM riders.

Very true, but no signposts, trees or vehicles to stop them.  I'm sure the Daytonas will offer additional protection over some other boots but they won't prevent injuries in the real world.  Plus, the thought of having a low side and scuffing yer £630 boots reeeeeally sucks ! Lol

Telling the missus that My £500 mk1 is ok but I need new £630 boots !
Think I maybe should replace my Aldi £29.99 specials then......

Trouble is not may are a wide enough fitting for me. I don't have big fit - a mere 7.5 normal shoes - bit wide. A bigger size usually doesn't cut it, sometimes even 2 sizes up won't do it.

The  Daytona race boots the MotoGP stars wear are the 2 piece inner hard shell/outer kangaroo skin jobs .......

The Goretex Daytona Touring boots are much cheaper - at between £200 - £350 a pair depending on spec.

I've had a pair of Daytona Roadstar GTX Goretex boots I use for touring  for almost 10 years now - never let water in & still got another ten years in 'em I reckon.

So, at around £250 when I got 'em - I reckon they're better value than some of the cheaper boots I've bought

:good: Now thats value for money :clapping:

BSM and I both have Daytonas. Mine are the Lady Star with a built up heel cos me bike's too big for me. 😀 They look identical to BSM's though. I bought both pairs from eBay.de, cheaper than UK prices. Worth every plenty and 100% waterproof. Mine are 7 years old and showing no signs of wear. The seller was top-motorradbekleidung and the service was excellent.

You don't need balls to ride a big bike.

I got a super deal at 400 EUR or 300 GBP, hard to beat

Another boot that I can recommend is the Lindstrands Champ boot. Made in Sweden using thick full grain leather, waterproof membrane, very good protection for not being a race boot with very robust and stiff ankle and shin potectors, steel insert in sole. True to size and up to size 48. Had mine for six years and they're still "like new". Provides a very comfortable and roomy/wide fit, good if your forefoot is on the wide side. Always kept me warm and dry but since I've used them with thick socks in winter they've become a bit loose, I wanted a snug fit summer boot, hence the Daytonas. Google or eBay for good deals in your size.

I still rate my Altbergs - £175 made to measure when i got them - Waterproof and seen on many Police bikers feet - they have now stopped making the model i have but the replacement look good although it is now around £270

TDM 1991 - two into one micron mated with a A16 Road and Race Supplies Stainless short can - Conti Road Attacks - Kagazume Wavy Rear Disc - Bagster tank cover - homemade sheepskin seat cover on top of custom seat cover - NonFango topbox on homemade mount - custom fusebox - very loud airhorn and cyclone alarm
