No notifications, no email, nada

I had some problems with my email which somehow caused my address to be blacklisted on this forum (I think / believe). The forum problems for me have been solved, but I still am not able to get any notifications or emails. I sent PM's / emails to two mods, but no replies... So now trying via this medium if one of the mods or the admin can check my email status in the system so I can have working notifications, PM's etc. The email should be Emile@Piloot.com and is working quite normal now (coupled to gmail), it should not cause any problems. Thanx to anyone who can look into this...

We are just ignoring you! I thought we had it sorted? If you can e-mail to the carpe gmail account with details of the problem, then I will try and sort it out....or use my hotmail account.....or just post it here....I'll do me best.

The initial problem is that when an email address is changed, it sends a new validation email.....that didnt happen for some reason, so you were still in "validating" rather than "members" ....that was sorted.

The no notification problem is a bit different, your email address is active and set to the one you have given above....so I will have to do some further digging.

I tried the gmail address (I think... it's been a while back) and / or your hotmail (I just replied to the last message you sent me when I had the forum login problems). Problem is simple: I get no notifications or emails from this forum in any way. That's what started me to tweak my settings to try and see if I could solve it... which caused things to get worse because I couldn't login because I couldn't get confirmation emails. You solved that part for me, but the original problem (not receiving anything) is still there. I suspect it was a week of gmail (bouncing) problems which started it, but right now everything has been perfect for weeks. Perhaps I'm in some sort of forum bouncing / spam / blacklist queue?

the carpe emails might be getting trashed by your spam filter.
putting the carpe email in your "buddy" list (in your email application) usually helps.

I use gmail, the spam filter is de gmail spam filter which works great, never filtered out the TDM stuff and still doesn't. That's not it. All the email notification settings in my controls are as they were, most of them ticked as applicable. Dapleb confirmed before that I was in the validation queue (which I activated by changing my email, but still didn't receive, in order to try and solve the problem) and the spam queue (for unknown reasons, because it did work before).

The only thing I can think of is that I got in the spam queue (my profile perhaps, not just email?) because of a week with bounce problems and that I'm still in there?

Is there a way to try and send me a validation email again? I probably won't receive it, but there's something preventing messages being sent towards me I think... just brainstorming...

I did that E-njoy, when I confirmed your new email addy. You are no longer in the "validation" area so I can't send you a "validation" e-mail, as there is nothing to validate.

Did you try the tick boxes I mentioned in the OPTIONS section of "My Controls"??

Another option is to delete your account and set up a new one.

I rechecked the settings again, especially my controls > options > email settings. Everything except the first is ticked, it all looks normal. I don't feel like deleting this account because of something that should work just fine, I just made it to carpe regular . I will again try to change my email, this time to one couple to another provider to be sure. Perhaps that will reset something in the forum... dunno what to do else from this side.

OK either change the email yer'sen...or PM it to me and I'll do it. Let me know when you have done it...and I'll make sure you don't get stuck in "verification" again. All members are setup with the same "mask", so your settings are identical to those of every other members settings (other than those you can edit yourself), so there really should be no differences here either!

Seems someone found the right warphole this time and got me out of Groundhog day. I changed emails to another one I had with another provider and got a verification confirmation right after. Clicked that and then tried to change it back to my regular email (which I prefer using) to see if it would somehow work this time... but didn't receive (like before when I tried to solve it) any verification. I guess one of the admins approved me manually, but this time the system does see my email as a valid one because the notifications have been rolling in already. So I have no clue what the admin did different this time compared to last time, but it seemed to have worked. Back to talking bikes again I guess .

Well, like I said two weeks ago I did get some topic reply notifications. Even though I did not get any notifications about new topics (which was also turned on) I was happy enough to at least get the topic replies. But after 4 days that seems to have stopped as well. Since March 8 there were no notifications at all. Access to the site is ok, but I'm not getting any notifications... and no, it's not in the spam box either. Could someone try checking and / or resetting my status... or something?
