Haha, that'll be me too, except with a large section of M74 before the M6 bit !

Good point on Food/Drink, the mention of stoves and cooking gear has me in mild panic - I take it Doms place has catering / drinks on for this ?

If not, it looks like Pizza & Beer runs all 'round !

Cheers

Tone

Well if last Friday's anything to go by I should leaving Swindon about 2 and there about 4ish.

Executive decision made and I've not brought my stove with me so hopefully Dom opens relatively early in the mornings for a cuppa.  There's a Spar and Somerfield about 1.5 miles for the camp site if we need to stock up on beer.

1992 Mk1, 76k miles, Hagon springs, MTC exhaust, 4½ gears Gone now Sad

2009 900 abs, 42k miles, Yamaha heated grips, double bubble screen, R&G crash bungs, scottoiler, Autocom, 1500 lumen LED spotlights.

Looking at Dom's interweb he has beer & grub but I'm taking my stove for that 1st coffee of the morning alone.

I bet I will be awake long before everyone else.

Might see you on route Tone :good:

Somerfield, lol, they went a while ago. I worked for them early in my career.

As discussed earlier, I'll be taking the scenic route through the bumpier parts of Wales. I'll be leaving home (Formby) at about 8:30 - 9:00, should get into Mold at about 10:15 I think. Drop me a PM if you want to meet up en route. It's a all day ride, sustained by numerous cake stops, so I don't expect to get to the camp-site until about 5pm.

I think I'll go for the Ivan option and will get in touch to arrange to meet.

No offence Chris but this is a bit too far for me and prefer the more leisurely option being suggested by Ivan, so see you down there.

I might re-appraise my choice of tent. I was going to bring the small, easy to pitch one, but it is only single skin, so might go for the bigger double skin one. It has been in thunder storms before and I stayed dry. Now where did I put those Aldi waterproof bags?

I've just looked at the map, there's no high ground and it's very close to the river Lugg. Abandon campsite, women and 900 riders first!

Tarts!

Hope you all have a great G2G. I live just 40 minutes away and I'd have loved to meet you all, but I will be touring Somerset and Devon with some mates on our annual SW trip. I tried everything to get them to change the dates (cake, free beer, cake, mucky women, cake) but it wasn't possible. Leominster is a great base for some terrific rides, Elan Valley etc.

'73 Honda CB500 Four, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Triumph Tiger Sport 660.
Just checked a few different weather forecasts, all looks dry for the weekend. Guess its going to be one of those piece of string forecasts.
MotoGuzzi Norge 1200GT. for Euro touring

Triumph Street Triple. For those hooligan moments......

Beta Alp 200. For falling off In muddy bits.

I suffer from C.D.O. It's like O.C.D. but all the letters are in the correct order, just as they should be.

Chris i've put off replying to your initial post as was waiting to see if Dave could make it, he's coming to mine for 8.15 ish for an 8.30 -9.00 start, we plan on going down through North Wales also, however a slightly different route to the 1st part of yours,  no great need to stop at the Ponderosa but would be an easy meet up for Manx (1hr 20) from here, from Bala we could pick up your route, looks pretty good to me..

No offense but i find the stretch through to Denbigh for Llanrwst a bit dire, i promise you would like the other part.

Anyway let us know if you would prefer to stay on your original course or join us with Manx and perhaps we'll bump into you on the way, not literally of course  Smile
