Rubbish Ins Service With Bennetts.....
'Just had the renewal quote from Bennetts and not a happy bunny.

I insured my last bike, a 1990 ZX10b Kawasaki, with Bennetts last year after getting a decent quote from them. When I bought the TDM earlier this year I simply changed the bike on the policy and they charged me £50 for the privilege which I thought wasn't too bad so paid up and thought no more of it.

The policy is up for renewal this month, but the quote for £177 fully comp plus £20 admin charge seems excessive to me (52yrs, full no claims, garaged, datatag, titan disc lock etc).

I checked on previous posts on here and looked at the Motorcycle Insurance site. 28 quotes less than Bennets, from £98 to £175 with some offering breakdown cover, ins protection, and or legal protection, none of which Bennetts offered, and with similar or better voluntary/compulsory excess!!

I tried to phone Bennetts and got the usual prolonged wait on the phone after answering the preliminary questions but not actually getting to speak to anyone properly. I tried to email and cancel the renewal payment but they replied that I must phone to cancel the payment so that is what I fully intend to do.

Crap service all round and I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere!!!!
To many variances for one insurer to be good for all of us, but i think it's worth giving Aunty Carol a phone if you aint already, you never know, had some very good service from them.

auntie carol for me :good:

MCE, Devitt, Hastings and many more were all around the £100 mark, Aunty Carole is £132 but includes breakdown cover, legal expenses AND overseas travel along with £100 excess only. I'll be going here I think.
Carol nash all the way even with my multi bike !
got a good deal from H&R last time around. They were a bit over the top with providing proof of this, that and the other, but cheaper than Swintons.

Just had my renewal from Bennetts. Fully comprehensive with legal cover, £350 total excess, full NCB, garaged, monster lock. £96 including arrangement fee.

I will be having a look around before buying.
Fuel Cans, PCIII USB, Oxford Heated Grips, K&N Air Filter, Air Box Mod, Michelin Pilot Road 3, MRA Vario Screen, Scotoiler HRC, Givi Wingrack, Givi E52 Maxia Top Box, Givi E41 Panniers, Hagon Progressive Forks, Centre Stand, Bagster Tank Cover + Bags

.....I've rehearsed the problems I've experienced with Bennets a number of times on here...wouldn't touch them with 'yours'......

Like others, I've returned to Auntie Carol, who are not the cheapest, but do respond to the light pressure of 'got a cheaper quote on a comparison site' ....granting £15 off my proposed renewal........and she does invest some of her profits into enhanced profile at shows and stuff......which I appreciate

the cheaper quotes I've turned up always seem to emanate from companies which pretty soon seem to be exhibiting strong signs

of flakiness.......one loses faith pretty rapidly.......

Jiff.
I used Carol Nash for a few years, until I got SMDSY'd. They appointed me a really, REALLY, crap firm of solicitors who did nothing for me, resulting in a claim that should have gone my way, to a split decision. So I don't bother with premium companies anymore.

Bennetts fuck-up caused me to miss a RTT one year.

Stu

Cancelled my renewal with Bennetts, abysmal service, never again.

Going with Carole Nash, £130 fully comp, with breakdown cover, legal expenses and overseas cover all included.
Often these companies use the same underwriter, so you are getting the same cover regardless. Carole Gash left both me and Dandy stranded atwix Greece and Bulgaria .... Then "couldn't recall" phone conversations and then misplaced the call recordings lolzio ... I am underwritten by aviva which is the same as I was with Carole gash but at terr than half the price.
Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
