What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
Quote:Rejuvenated fork oil seals over the last month and changed oil today, forgot to change trousers though so got shouted at for getting my best jeans dirty.
I'm not alone then. For some reason the better the clothes I wear the dirtier the job I start. Leads to that "I'm going to get a bollocking" moment when I notice the mess I'm in. I haven't bettered squeezing half a tube of Gorilla glue down my almost new Draggin jeans yet. I'm a putz.

I hate to admit it, but I didn't realize the OEM shock had a compression adjustment.  Moving it to four clicks from max and changing the adjuster from "soft" to "hard" has given me a whole new bike!

I still need to replace the old thing, but it's handling really well now.  I'm thinking I might just have to address the forks before the rear shock now.

Sailed through the MOT again, woop woop then started pissing down, oh well, cant have everything i spose  Smile

Seriously needed some bike time today, as recently we've been going back and forth to Basingstoke as the outlaws are either in hospital or practically bed ridden.

Fairly stressful all round.

Went Drag racing at North Weald Aerodrome, only watched though.

Not easy to get exciting photos of cars and bikes going in a straight line. :um:

Still a good 2 hrs riding each way, dodging the usual psychopaths on the North circular and the M25.

Warm tarmac and hot tyres............clears the mind. :badgerrock:

I've been lurking in the background reading articles about chain adjustment and decided to have a look at mine over the weekend.

I had been suffering with the usual 'kangarooing' in traffic and was convinced it was the chain... it felt like it was too loose and causing 'slap'

Anyway.... adjusted to recommended 50-55mm..... guess what.... it was lovely this morning riding into work really smooth on steady throttle...

I'm well chuffed! :good:

A slide show of selected photos.

I'll try and get some of the video up later.

Went out for a fang on Sunday in the company of a BMW 800 GS and DT 230 Lanza. The sun shone, birds sang and gravel flew. I managed to keep the dualies in sight on gravel and my stars aligned on a twisty tarmac loop so I said sayonara and vanished into the distance.

Reinforced for me yet again how hard the TDM is to replace even after riding and being very impressed with the BMW. Except the indicators and throttle response.

Had to short a ride to get used to the indicators. Two switches, left and right on the bars, that was OK but you cancel by pushing the right hand (throttle) switch across with your thumb. I found it very disconcerting on gravel taking my thumb off the throttle. No doubt it becomes second nature with time.

Compared to the power delivery of my TDM the GS was very sharp on the throttle and picked up revs quicker. Again, something to get used to. Felt like it had a steeper torque curve. I was losing traction quicker on the GS with Michelin Anakee tires than I was on the TDM with sport touring tires. Being a nearly new bike with standard exhaust I couldn't hear it. Kept checking out my revs and gear selection on the digital dash. Biggest thing on the clock is the gear number. Excellent bike but still does not tick all the boxes my TDM does.

The GS weighs over 200kg wet but runs a 90/90-21 front tire. Brilliant in the loose stuff but compromised on the tar seal. Very compromised if you like leaning.

The wee DT left it for dead through tighter corners.

Any hoo, I digress from the thread. Soz.

Took the daughter out for the night. did the bikers rounds, three speed cameras all on one five mile stretch of local road and prob thirty police, what on earth! Shame they don't come out in force at 9am/5pm then they can see some real half arsed driving! Next to lend my TDM for. demo ride to a mate who wants a great bike to do the Alps on, he feels that the TDM would not be any good, Oh I said, why not get a BMW or Ducati then Wink think I will stick with the TDM as I feel it's a great bike for such a task and after all what Yamaha designed it for no?....

Been using mine for the short commute to and from work. Dominator sounds like it's knocking the camshaft out.

It's using more fuel than usual, (understandably), it's also getting covered in crap.
