What Have You Done To Your Tdm Today?
Nothing special or interesting, but just fitted some DL650 handguards (excellent fit and have a good 'angular' look), Oxford Adventure Hotgrips (the width of them is fine, some people fit a relay with switch live but I just hardwired them to the battery as the grips have a battery saving mode and turn themselves off after 2 mins of engine not running by sensing electrical fluctuations or lack of it on the battery) and a phone mount thing for navigation.

Also checked the condition of the front fairing as I'm slightly concerned about fatigue in the plastic with the huge screen mounted on there, but there's no obvious signs of trouble. Clearly I don't ride over 70mph but if speed limits would allow it I would cruise at 90mph max and only go to 100mph in short bursts because of fairing concerns!

I was hungry and tired so didn't get to it today but the next task is to fabricate a mock undertray and engine front guard out of cardboard so that my metal fabricating friend can then make the real one in aluminum!

Hi Humbertronic,

I like the handguards, did they fit straight on without any modification?

Cheers

Today, being Paddy's Day, I worked for the morning finishing a job for a customer and, in the afternoon, I got out for two hours on the Mk2a. What was special about this? It was only the second time I have been on a bike for almost exactly 6 months for a variety of reasons. It took a while to 'dial -in' but I was getting there on the way home. I went over the Conor Pass and around the Dingle peninsula in the 'wrong' direction and back home over the Pass again. It was feckin' freezing. It re-awoke my love for the TDM and for biking that I had feared was being taken from me through no fault of my own. Standing at Brandon Creek and looking at the blue beauty I realised how much she has meant to me for so many years and so many km. I'm looking for more days like this.

Just have to machine a slot in teh bar end weights, or buy different ones. There's plenty of info I think if you do a search. Other than that a perfect fit.

Bike wouldn't start this morning. Soooooo, off with the 2 side panels, off with the cowling, off with the fuel tank and, hmmmm feels a bit light.  Off to get fuel, put a gallon in and she eventually started.

Battery's good though. Smile  Gonna fettle the carbs tomato, she's a tad spluttery under 2000rpm.

Need to look at the handlebars as they're not lined up straight.

Hoping it's just the clamps that need adjusting.

Also took the front wheel in to my LBS to get a slow leak sorted.  Just needed sealing to the rim, total cost of £2.50 ! Big Grin

Yesterday I was mostly narrowly avoiding disaster.
Just finished replacing the rear wheel after new tyre fitted (PR3), So, eager to get it scrubbed in, backed it off the lift.....wait for it......without replacing the ramp at the end OR opening the garage door. The bike is now too high for either stand to work, won't go forward up the "step" and can't go back cause the door's closed.....Oh how I laughed!
Managed to get the door open but very close to dropping the bike twice. By now I've broken a rib with laughter.
Anyway good news is, tyre scrubbed in without falling off this time, and seems to be ok mixed with the part worn Dunlop on the front.
Sorry to go on but had to tell someone !!
Lock onto my co-ordinates and beam me up !!

04 900 - 92 mk 1 - r 1150 rs - Z550 A1 - 2x bonnies - plastic slug -XL185 - ...not in that order !! (and one or two i don't want / dare to own up to !!)
Fitted Halfords low note horn...we'll worth a tenner Smile
HI  Picard!

Pickard, is not good form to laugh at the misfortune of others.

But, please forgive, me because I laughed a lot. Tongue

In such a situation, no good inveigh. Have is to laugh very much. Confusedorry:

Pushing the bike on wheels is difficult. Now at this weight and without a wheel, has nothing to do.

Open the door, like ?? :rotflmmfao:

Good that you did well. Laughter is accurate. After all we are not machine.

Cheers!

I broke one of my mirrors. I was riding home from work and noticed that the offside mirror was slightly out of position. As I was in traffic, I grabbed it to correct and the damm thing came off in my hand, having broken.at the bottom near the thread. I couldn't believe it but in hindsight, the r/h panel was scratched when I got the bike so it must have fallen over at some time and weakened the mirror. That will cost me £25. Will bung on an old MK2 one till I can get a new one.

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.

Nope, the thread is for anything you may have done, including braking it.

I enjoy seeing the day to day of TDM owners.

Putting an 8fiddly part onto a 9'er IS an improvement. Smile
Oil and filter change done today after a quick ride. Up to Rivi barn tomorrow to give it a good run.

Rode her to a HR-Manager training yesterday and today.

My car is dead right now. People at the training were a little astonished, that I rode there. Today it was raining cats and dogs. Hope tomorrow will be dry for a little spin with Paul.

Hey Studley!

Europe is like that !?

So is true even Studley!

Here in Brazil also speak it.

They say that with a simple mirror of 8fiddly, the 9niner passes to walk more and spend less fuel. With two mirrors; co1 and co2 pass to AutoFit, is no longer necessary TFI presents no problem in cold start system, is no longer necessary to make the air box system eliminates, amalgamation coils and cables, tires start to last more than 30,000km and the crown set, chain and sprocket are of 100.000km.

It is the 9niner pilots should thank us. Tongue

Cheers!
