When the bike came out of the MOT area I said to the tester did it pass, he said the brake light doesnt work on the back brake pedal but it works on the front lever. I said well it was working yesterday when I tried it and we both walked over to the bike and I tried the back brake-no light came on so I looked around and we were alone so I said to him but have you  passed it anyway all he said was Its an MOT faliure to that I went Noooooo and he giggled and said yes I passed it.When I got home to have a look I found a socket set ratchet caught between the frame and swing arm ( Took bike up in a van luckily) and the back brake light switch wasnt even there, left it in the parts box Doooh.

Made and fitted a new charging system for Mandis old tom-tom and fitted it to the TDM. I used an in-car type usb charger, butchered it out of it's plastic case and hid it under the dash. To bloody cold to test run it.

Removed my left side heated grip and added some heatshrink underneath, then re-installed.  I was losing too much heat into the bars on the left side.  I typically add heatshrink or SA tape to the bars when adding the under grip type heaters.  I didn't think this was needed with Oxford grips, but it helped immensely.  I also swapped out my ST handguards for the $20 Chinese ones like AliG got.  They're not very handsome, but they provide better coverage.  Lastly, I swapped out my 60W Osram headlight bulbs for two LED H4 replacements, freeing up 80W.

Took it for a test spin today, although it was a fairly "warm" 44*F/7*C, the setup worked very well.  Should be good for those 20*F/-7*C morning commutes.

The downside:  I did something to my clutch cable during the handguard install.  It functions ok, but has A LOT of resistance to it.  I don't notice anything strange about the cable run, but it must be caught up somewhere.  I also noticed that my brake line holder on the rear swingarm broke and the part is no longer available!  If anybody has a spare, please let me know.

What have I done to my TDM? Moved it out the way to get the chainsaw out of the garage yesterday but that's the first time I've touched it since I moved it out of the way to put the BBQ away Sad

Gently, led it out into sunshine.

Waggled the ill fitting key/lock and got it started, wheeled it out of the garage to warm up and spent some time eyeing up the rear end stance while listening to that twin burble............then switched off and wheeled it back in the garage Lol

Oh, once back in the garage and on the main stand, lubed the dirty chain. Just because.

Opened the shed door, looked at it, shut the door as I realised I was in the wrong shed.

Yeah, I thought it must be a huuuuuge chain saw if the bike had to be shifted to get it out. V8?

Been using the bike for work lately. Head light is still nominal but suspenders much better. A little twiddle goes a long way.

Over a month now and still waiting to get my TDM back. I have nothing but kind words to say about the fella doing the rewind but the service mob are useless. I just want the bike back :'(
Fitted some Datatool  Heated Grips, no raving about in the wiring harness to find an ignition feed, they detect when the engine not running and switch off, just 2 wires straight to the battery, and a nice sliding switch on the left bar you can work with your thumb.Doddle

Went to Norwich to collect some engine bars, got home and now fitted.

Hi Catteeclan!

I liked the engine bars. It seems very compact and is not an exaggerated aspect.

Your motorcycle is very beautiful

TDM yellow, reminds me of my first motorcycle. A Honda CB350 1973. The previous owner had painted yellow. The same color Goldwing 1000.

HI Sidarta. They're only Givi bars so not the best quality but as you say quite discrete.

Bit of a sucker for yellow myself but normally one shade per bike.
