West coast of Scotland
I'm off to the west coast next wednesday, with me dad on a 1200gs and a few of his friends on various bikes and one on a flippin goldwing, we'll be heading north from Ayr, thursday night in glenfinnan, friday night in Applecross, take in skye in between, not sure after that, the majority of the group is heading towards Nairn, I'd prefer to keep heading north, any advice on good rides north of inverness, or nice b&bs? [Image: good.gif]
Anyone around for a spin at any stage during the week?

I'll take a few photos, if I remember me Camera [Image: unsure.gif]
Lucky burger.....North West is soo damn fine! Can't remember any of the roads I have used....but the one to Ullapool is great and just about every other damn road up there..so many changes of scenery and sweeping clear roads. BEWARE the Kyle of Tongue..the locals are revolting! [Image: blink.gif]

Cheers

If you're heading way up north I'd recommend a B&B near Durness called Port na Con, it be bikely friendly and a really unique remote spot, good food, and licensed. PM me if you're interested and I'll dig out the details.

Roads wise, I think everything up there is great, made for the TDM. North of Ullapool I'd recommend the single tracker that starts at Drumrunie corner (turn left off the main road 10 mile N of Ullapool, signposted for Achiltibuie) and takes you the back way to Lochinver. Its not called the wee mad road for nothing. [Image: dry.gif]
Theres a fair bit of single track north of Laxford Bridge round the coast to Tongue. Further south the Struie Hill Road is a brilliant ride that goes over the hills from Alness to Bonar Bridge. The locals use it as a short cut, think of it as a mini TT.
