Oh God .....you lot!
Beware the whitevanman!
How pissed off are the USAF that instead of spending $2bn each on B2's they could have spent $300m each on 777's with a bigger payload, cheaper operating costs and just as good stealth capability!

Better,

IIRC

Last time they flew a B2 into RIAT they were spotted on radar the whole time they were in Brit airspace.

Apparently they weren't happy.

Or so I was told. :dunno:

They broadcast with a loud transponder when in commercial airspace so controllers know where they are and others can't easily measure their radar return.  One did apparenty manage to fly all the way from Maryland for the Farnborough airshow, do a flypast of Blackbushe airport, and go home again Big Grin

Did anyone see it ? Wink
Stu

you would have thought someone would notice by now, the odd few tankers of jet fuel going missing, these things hold 181,000 to 202,000 litres of of fuel depending on whether they have the option extra fuel tanks. You need an awful lot of jerry cans.

It weighs 347 tonnes, no just pushing it under a leafy tree somewhere.

That was the one I was thinking of.

I would like to think of course the plane is hiding somewhere and everybody is ok, but now that is very unlikely.

You would of course rather it be mechanical failure instead of a hi-jacking, although its still not a nice thing to think or say. I just cant imagine why the transponder was turned off. If it was a mechanical failure, why would it have been turned off?

I reckon its at the bottom of the sea somewhere... Sad

maybe a hijacking went wrong and they all ended up in Davy Jones's Locker.

Blimey...this Welsh guy Davey get a real bad rap...everything that goes missing is in his Rugby Club Locker...not fair
