what was needed to fit them? drills, saws, glue?
NEUK Rider

nothing was needed to fit them other than a screw driver and a couple of allen keys, they fit straight with no modifications as long as your running standard bars as i cant vouch for any aftermarket renthals etc....

Hi all,

As a side thread to this topic I am looking for the Barkbusters Blizzard hand guards  (BBZ 01) they are available in the US but not it seems in the UK unless one of your members knows otherwise.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have just fitted a set of Vstrom guards to my 2008 900. All went well until I came to the bar ends as my bike has Renthall`s fitted. After a bit of thought, I cut the tube part from the Renthall bar end and refitted useing  a longer bolt. So it was bar end, spacer from the fitting kit and then expanding tube bit from the bar end. fitted and tightened and looks great, I will try and post photos.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Hi all," breaking my duck or popping my cherry" call it what you will but this my first post on here !! Recently just bought a 900 (2006) and have been trawling through the site for all the info. First job was to get the much debated handguards on,after reading all the different options decided to go for the V-Strom guards now £50 at local Suzuki dealer. Can only say massive thanks to Hartside Man for the "BRILLIANT" tutorial, after getting a mate to machine bar ends (for a pint !!) it really was a fool proof description of how to fit them. Well happy ........what to do next.

Welcome COBAX. Smile

What next indeed?... So much choice... Cosmetic, functional, or just to personalise...?

Yeah, I've done the IAM. And yeah, I recommend it (any so-called 'advanced training' come to that; not just IAM): A low cost training course based on the system used by the police, which is largely common sense once pointed out, making one smoother, quicker and safer. What's not to like? And why would one not want to tell others?  :hide:
