feeling frustrated and ill-tempered this morning .......so forgiveness required (in advance would be nice).......


.........so I appear to have a notification that my 'sub' has become due.........Oh, I thought, I'll happily & willingly renew...... NOW......

generously even, since I value this place so much.......can't quite remember HOW TO........then spend the next ten minutes looking for clues.......'my controls'.....?.......cant find it anywhere.......my name top left?......no, my name top right........guiness......no go......etc, etc


by which time I've not only lost the will to live, but - as you may see- the ability to spell......


PLEASE !........Please.......put somewhere obvious and prominent, simple instructions, (Paypal or not)

I'd suggest a link attached to the notification for those 'renewing' plus a separate teaser for first-timers........in an unmissable place, not buried in amongst 250 odd old posts........

Deep breaths jiff its gonna be fine.  I will talk you through it in easy steps:

 

1. Relax no money required oil go update it now
   
2. We dont need a Step 2 as Step 1 was so great.

Look at the Tabs menu under the site logo, you'll see one called "Subscriptions"  Click on that and you'll see a message.  Within that message you'll see the following advice................

 

If you have any questions about your current or past subscriptions, you should contact a member of the administrative team who will be able to deal with any enquiries you might have.

so presuming the site logo is the big red / yellow banner at the top, which says 'Carpe O TDM', beneath that, against a dark turquoise

background, is a line of what I would call 'tabs' which illuminate to white when you click on them, & they say, from left to right:


"Carpe TDM Forum / Forums / Members / Calendar / Blogs / Gallery / Chat / More^. view new content"


nowhere can I see 'Subscriptions' !


So, dearest , and most respected members of the admin team, to whom I express my sincerest gratitude, may I ask, without even a hint

of sarcasm, let alone any implied criticism, but in genuine and humble puzzlement.....

1) Do you have any idea why I can't see what I'm apparently supposed to? - could it be,by any chance, to do with the fact that I'm using an iPad?

2)Why did I receive a prompt telling me that my 'sub' is about to expire, when, as I now understand it, I don't / will not need to donate some more. Please explain or refer me to somewhere that clarifies how the subs. thingie works.

3)I swear that when I looked a couple of hours ago, my sub. was shown as running out this month, hence my eagerness to offer continued support, now it's shown as running out in December.........?


Truly guys, I'm not in any way having a go, just puzzled and in search of enlightenment......even if that highlights my own ineptitude

........Tremendous! thanks 'Rallyist' - clearly I was being too literal in assuming to actually see it before my very eyes.....

happy to own up to not being perceptive enough 'outside the box'........a half 'mea culpa' lets say


....and do I assume that the prompt for me to cough-up, was simply a (wrongly timed) glitch in the system.......but indeed, at the end of

'a period', (whatever that might be) I would simply be invited to dob in another lump............if so, that's what I assumed, but it just seemed to have become mysteriously not-quite-so-straightforward, at one stage.......

The only thing that has changed is that the notification system now.works. Subs have always been yearly and since you have been here for yeArs its just a case that you have either never noticed or forgot. They always run ooot annually and we always renew them for noubt.


Wouldn't spend too long fretting as it is all.going to change somehow at the end of the year so save some soles on yer strolling boots for then.

Hi, Just Thought I'd mention that I paid my subscription the other day [10th June], which I got a receipt from paypal for :pimp: , but I'm not shown on here as having paid?   I'm sure there'll be a logical reason.

Sorry to bring this up chaps, but I paid my subscription on 14th April 2013 and haven't had an acknowledgement. Did the dosh get through to you??

Dappers will be along to look into the payment matey.  I'm guessing the paypoop addy you used might be different from the addy you use on here which results in a no match.

Thanks for the reminder Scotty.  All should be up to date now.

 

The subs system is the last remaining buggy pile of non functioning crap (SR having fixed everything else).  It did work again for a while and then completely broked without anyone touching oubt!!!  The plan is to find a new way of doing it at the end of the year as its just a masseeve pain in the rissole especially when paypoop and carpe emails dont match.

 

•  Please remember that if you are an existing/expired sporting member there is no need to top up subs at the mo, just need to lettuce snow your subs are/has run out and we will update it for noubt.  If you have repaid needlessly (Scotty J I think this includes yer good'sen) and want yer dosh back then again just lettuce snow and oil refund yer payment.
  

 

• If you have paid subs and your email addy for paypoop is different to your Carpe email then please lettuce snow so we stand a chance of matching stuff up.
  

 

• If you have paid subs at any point and yer not showing as a sporting member then peas lettuce snow before Crimbo 2013 as we will probably be using this group at the end of the year to bung in to whatever new "system" we can find.

Yup Scotty, so there was no need for you to pay oubt...just needed you to lettuce snow that your subs had expired and we'd a just updated it for noubt.  So if ya want yer recent payment back then lettuce snow and we will do a paypal refund thingy.
