Thats for the topic poster to update when stuff is sold. For example the PM might say "oi loike squirls" or "oil give ya £2". And then it has the exact opposite effect and makes you think its gone when it might not have.

Plus, telling everyone you've sent a PM regarding an item doesn't mean you're the first person to actually send a PM regarding an item.
Just wondering ....... how much does it cost to post a Prime Minister 1st class these days ?

All electrics apart now and engine dropped. ECU, rectifier etc all working. Also got a pair of K&N air filters (YA 7585) as new.
Most forums I use ask you to 'register you interest' hence pm sent. We've all seen things get messy on here before regarding sales.

There's a difference atwix registering an interest "how much for the squirl", "I would like to know if the squirl will work with acorn 5.3", "THE SQUIRL IS MINE" etc and causing confusion by just typing "PM sent". Its BECAUSE of the confusion that has been caused in the past that I have highlighted "PM sent" as unhelpful.

But, if people only send PMs there'd be nothing in this ere thread other than the first post, pah whatever, I'll continue to post PM sent just to show there's some interest
I think this whole 'PM sent' thing could be solved by just adding a bit of info after that... like:

PM sent with my offer.

or

PM sent with my cell #

Another excellent raisin not to do it. <img src='http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/good.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':good:' />

I've yet to find another bike site where peeps post up a PM sent message. Only reason we posted up pm sent messages was because the site was broken and the pm system didn't function properly. It now works perfectly well. <img src='http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

And, despite the PM sent posts, we have no idea at all whatsoever, if the shock and the brakes have been sold or not. ie, we're non the wiser and confusion still remains. And the reason why things get messy and confusing is usually due to a lack of updating the topic info by the seller.
this is getting pedantic, I agree with Maximus, but Thomas has hit the nail square on the head and people could adopt his suggestion above and below ! Be good if sellers updated the items too.

Disagree Studders - posting to say you've sent a PM is standard procedure on the UKGSer site - works fine - I've bought loads of stuff from there - including the odd bike <img src='http://www.carpe-tdm.net/ipb/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hide.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hide:' />
