Cochem, germany
> http://www.ricksgastezimmer.com
<snipped from previous post>
http://www.germanrhineland.com/

location : click here

run by Andre(geordie lad) and his wife Marie(German lady with good english)
he has dorms and/or single and/or double rooms
suitable for individuals, couples and LARGE groups good.gif

The accommodation is great, just like a home away from home, much more friendly than a guest house
with a workshop for any bits you need to do and a play room (pool table, darts, beers etc) out the back.
Breakfast is great with plenty of options to cater for all tastes
The roads around the area are great, wish i'd had more time to explore.
apparently only an hour from the Nurburg ring too.

Website probably hasn't been updated in years, but still lots of useful links in certain regions:

He probably needs more marketing, or a more interactive interface. Haven't talked to the maker in years (scottsman active on advrider.com), perhaps he needs a new impulse. If updated this site would be perfect...

If you're going to North West Spain - the Picos De Europas especially - the CMC boys recommend this place

http://www.fade.es/torretours/hotel.htm

Jim even has a workshop he'll let you use (for all you MK1 boys )
Will we be seeing the last one of Ajfergies piccies on next years calendar?
Apart from that, this site looks OK for holidays in Germany, http://www.tourenhotel.de/motorradhotel/mo...eutschland.html.
Seems to be all in German, but you get the general idea. Have never tried any of them, as usually go to France, however, I can translate bits if anyone interested,
What's all this about signatures Ted?

Don't need no oil drums no more.
Anyone know of good B&B's in Northern Ireland? thinking of a wee trip over.
A customers sister has just set up this place: http://www.burgundybikerstay.com/

No idea if its any good asI have never been. Looks noice.

Beautiful location on Dalgety River
Friendly owners

I stayed at Fomula 1's in France a few years ago. Very basic hostel like accommodation but clean, cheap & most had lock up parking. You need to pre-book on line & you get an access code. They are usually only manned morning & evening.
TDM 850 Loud and unusual. CRM 250r Woo hoo! DT 230 Lanza Fiddled with.... Bloody hell, is that legal? GG Randonee AKA "I didn't think that was possible".
I stayed here http://www.onroad-cafe.de/ earlier this year.

Very friendly with secure bike parking, workshop facilities and basic spares/tools available. Run by Lex and Klasien, a dutch couple. About 15 min from main entrance to the Ring.
Biker B&B in Brittany
If anyone is thinking of going over to France, I'm just back from a weekend break at the above in Brittany. The owners are long-term bikers and though it was early season and the weather was mixed, the roads are just fabulous - loads of long straights through the forests and lovely twisties. The B&B is clean, well equipped and of course, the most important, under cover parking for your pride and joy. Food was also good and plentiful with a good supply of beer and wine. Ken, one of the owners, conducted the ride outs on his 800cc Bonneville and tailors the routes to suit the group.

And before anyone asks, no, Ken isn't my cousin and he didn't slip me a fiver for the write-up, though now that I think of it, must ask for a discount next time.
Finally, I went on LD Lines Portsmouth to Le Havre. Was cheap as chips though you do have a 200 mile trip at the other end. Portsmouth - St Malo gives you a one hour trip in France but is more expensive. I arrived at 8am so had all day to to get there. Even if you take the Peage (toll road), it only costs EUR 2.60.
Alistair
2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.
