<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Been chipping away at my boss to get a bike. He's a petrol head and now wants a bike.
Here's what he sent to me:
"I have a full uk driving license from 1983 so what size of bike could i ride without taking the full test?
Some people say 125 some say it can be 250 but it cant be more than 33bhp"
Could someone clarify please.

Before he can ride a bike, he has to do the CBT (Compulsory bike test). His full car licence will act as a provisional and he can then ride up to 125cc for 2 years without taking a test. He will then either have to take a test, including theory, off road bit and on road bit. Assuming he is over 21 (that might be changing to 25) he can do Direct Access where he will train with a school on a 500cc bike and will sit the test on that bike. He can then ride any size of bike. If he sits his test on a 125cc, he is restricted to 33hp for 2 years.
