That's why I didn't sell mine. Plus, when you get another (you know you will), you'll have to do all the mods again.

Those VFRs are a nice bike, though. Apparently, the riding position is very similar to a Guzzi V11
You'll find out soon mate

second that just when he had it all sorted too. I can do Viffer bits, I'm sure, but I'll just have to turn the Carpe calendar round to the wall when I'm doing them sorta out of respect.

He will be back on a TDM or more likely the XTZ1200 when he's grown out of this temporary viffer condition.
<!--sizeo:2--><!--/sizeo--><!--fonto:Comic Sans MS--><!--/fonto-->Evening,

another newbie! Just bought mine from Apex in Preston after trading in a 600 Bandit. Heres a piccy hopefully:

I only picked it up this morning so only managed about 20 miles tops on it, very impressed so far! I used to have an XT660R and this feels like a smoothed out grown ups version fo that bike, very torquey so great for traffic and zipping round the lanes of the Fylde Coast. Feels slower than the Bandit but looking at the speedo I'm not so sure, it might be the lack of "AAAHHHHHHHHH" from the engine that makes it seem slower.

Couple of quick questions though; wheres the header tank for the coolant and when I turn in the bike seems to want to do it for me by turning the bars tot he right on a right hander even though I am trying to nudge them left? I feel like I am fighting it a bit. Thanks in advance.<!--fontc-->

2005 05 plate TDM900 in Grey Metallic and Gold SOLD but missed it so much...

2004 Ducati Multistrada 1000DS SOLD, it didn't bloody start often enough

Hi and welcome. That's one of my favourite coulour schemes.

They're not slower than a Bandit 6, but may give that impression 'cause they don't rev so high.

For the steering, check the front tyre pressure. Normally the steering is very light. Coolant bottle is visible to check level on the right behind the frame just above the rear brake lever. Topping up is accessed from under the seat.

Nice bike !
Thanks both, I will look at the tank for levels but as I'm planning on changing the plugs from what I have read the radiator will have to be drained anyway. As for tyre pressures, they were 15 PSI front and rear so that might explain why it felt a bit odd

Tyres are now 33 front and 36 rear so all I ned to do is take it out and have a play, looking forward to it!

The Bandit always sounded fast due to the engine note but as I wrote above this seems to just get on with it in a more quiet way, nice.

You can change the plugs without draining the rad, still a pita though, either way.
Hi Guys!

I will be the new owner of a 07 900 in the very near future that I've currently got a deposit on, just need to sell my Kwak 650 Versys first! Hopefully this should be over the course of next week, just waiting for confirmation from my buyer.

I also own a Mk1 Yam FZS600 Fazer which I use daily to commute but buying the TDM for 2 up and fun! Not really taken to the Versys and more importantly neither has better half, test rode the TDM 2 up and both loved it!!!!

Cheers for now.............

Chaps and Chappesses,

I received my 2006 TDM recently so I'd thought I'd show my face here.

It's only done 2900 miles with full service history from the original dealer, and we agreed on a deal for a full set of new Givi luggage. Cheaper ones are out there of this age, but this was totally immaculate and barely used so as an anally retentive freak I am very pleased.

Very capable machine, it's a breeze to ride and very well built. This forum is a very good source of info - possibly the best of the ones I have used for my various bikes so far.

I also have a CBR400RR NC29 and an XR400 for throwing about in mud.

Looking forward to racking up some miles!

Looks really smart

Another newbie

All being well, will do the deal tomorrow am (15/06/12) and be the owner of a 2007 white TDM900

I like twins, current bike (owned for one week) is a Honda Transalp XL700V-8, that replaced an 04 Ducati Multistrada 1000DS, which replaced an Aprilia Caponord, that replaced a Yamaha FZ1-S that replaced a Buell Ulysses, that replaced a Cagiva Navigator, that replaced an Aprilia Mille RSV.......

The TDM is a bit high mileage at 24,000 and a bit pricey at ???? but it all works as part of a chain to unload the Honda

24K High miles Pah! barely run in. Don't let Cats know you've got a white one. He'll be along in a bit. I'm sure. You've had an interesting mix of bikes there, most of which a bit more powerful that the humble TDM. Is that why the change so quickly from the Honda?

Where in Essex are you?

Deal is done, deposit is paid, just need to sort out collection/delivery date. Why do I always buy bikes from so far away?

Need to source a Givi box for the rack the bike is fitted with and remove the pannier racks as I won't use them

The Honda was just a swop/deal to get rid of the Multistrada, would never have chosen it and riding it proves me right, it's a great bike but not for me

Re the power of the TDM, one thing I have proved to myself is that power is nothing, torque is king and I am hoping that I find the TDM a torque laden engine without having to rev the balls off it

I am after a "chilled" relaxed high average speed cross country bike, never venture above 100MPH, not into getting my knee down, but want something that copes with the A and B roads and soaks up the bumps. I hope the TDM will provide me with this

I am based in North Essex, between Colchester and Clacton
