Road Safety 1955 Style
Found this on Visordown today, just had to share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUxRmDHeE44...layer_embedded#!
It's great.
It brought back some memories for me as I was 15 at the time and three years later got my first bike a 125cc ex GPO BSA Bantam a D3 I think.
Just look at all the different road surfaces and tram lines.
Riding on a wooden block road was scary in the wet and ride in the gutter in the snow as there might be some gravel for more grip, Brilliant.
1953 BSA Bantam, 1960 Ariel Arrow, 1948 Vincent Rapide, 1959 Matchless G11, AJS 250CSR, 1986 BMW K75s, Suzuki 1999 GS500E, 2002 Suzuki SV650, 1991 VFR750 FL, 2007 TDM900
Quite interesting

What a hoot! I was 15 too and very soon bought my 1940s Ariel 350. I had one of those white helmets. Note the right foot down on stopping - gear lever was on the correct side in those days (still occasionally comes back to me, that one). And I spotted the car that came much later in life. What about those coat tails flapping around!

Magic!!!

Obviously it was many, many years before I was born but I have heard mighty tales of those brave souls who rode in those distant days of yore.

For a challenging summer try the

Round Britain Rally.....

1993 TDM 850 Mk1 ..... 2008 TDM 900 ....  1975, 1979, 1982, 1992 Goldwings, Scott, AJS,  Triumph 5TA
That was great - I was still on the bittie at that time.

I liked the bit about chain tension - obviously the TDM hadn't been thought of at that point - the one which was hanging off looked ideal for an 850

I could be wrong, but that looks like young Pete crossing the road at 0.42 in his woolie hoodie.
