Hi Azza, I'll go with the lodge if that works in with a "master plan", just me.

SWWTBO (She Whom Wishes To Be Obeyed) might come along for the ride, to and from the venue... It was while researching weekend activities for her that I found reference to the annual show in Dalgety. Of course it's all TBA, at this stage, if she comes or not. (Leave and choice of bike to be confirmed.)
Figured there might be a chance of Brentong (if not others) having a two wheeled significant other along, presumption of course.
We also had a few/couple of welcome grape-vined-non-Carpe riders last time, in Omeo, might they be coming again?
The lodge sleeps 20 pax in four separate rooms, if i've read and remembered correctly, so there should be some degree of flexibility.

The "grape-vined-non-Carpe riders" wont be attending.
Thinking we will be lucky to get even near 20 persons.
Hello to your Droid.

Change of venue is sensible considering the Show and the new base camp sounds great!

I rang the Site today and Tent sites are not a problem, but if you want a Room/Cabin/Lodge then get a wiggle on and book before they run out .

Gents....I'm a TRX owner (buying a TDM in the next couple of months) and was trying to organise a similar run last year for the TRX crowd, why i mention this is, I'm a member of a lodge in Perisher Valley and we were going to stay there (just up from Southern Cross), the lodge is smaller (12 Max) but cheeper $20 at day PP. If you are at all interested drop me a line and I'll forward the details.
P.S I'd love to come (and might) but I'll have guests from OS staying at the time.......now, how can i get them to go home early

That sounds great Rod and welcome to the site, no you can't buy my TDM.
I had considered Perisher/Smiggins, but the thought of paying the $6 a day entry fee to the Park, pissed me off (they used to make me pay it even when I was working on the NPWS equip up there).
One of the other concerns is the lack of Facilities at Perisher during the Summer, I know it bounces in Winter but you could fire a shotgun down the main street in Summer and hit no one.
What part of the country are you located Rod, you're most welcome if you can find the time

The $6 a day sucks and, yep, it is a ghost town during the summer part of it's charm i guess......anyway the offer stands if required
....sure you don't wanna sell the TDM

At this stage I can't get the information into the GPS - but a challenge is good for the grey cells.

We appear to have picked a busy weekend !!!!!
From my reading of the GPS trip files we should be there just before lunch on the Saturday ride ? Could be some nice bikes on the roads around there.
Sat Mar 3rd, 2012

And BTW all of you don't forget your winter woolies, you can never be sure of the weather up here, the Max at Thredbo on Monday was 0C

Put me on the list as a definite.
I also believe a mate of mine ( Michael) will be coming - rides a Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer thingy if I remember the numbers correctly - so it may be two of us.

I've managed to get a nicer price for the lodge and will pay a non-refundable deposit in the next day or two.
The booking will be for the 2nd-5th inclusive, so Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
The lodge consists of four rooms that sleep 5 people each, one room is already taken, so there is ample room for 9-12 more people without crowding. There is room for more people should we need it, the price goes up $30 per pax over 12 people.
I'll be paying a non-refundable deposit (did I mention that before?) so it would be good to see those that want a cheap bed get in early and commit.
Cost will be split between those in the lodge... proximately between $131 for 6 people and $67 for 12 people... so it is a bargain if you don't mind sharing and want a better night sleep than a tent in the mountains might offer.
If a couple wants a room to themselves, it would cost about $263 for the 3 nights!
Money not spent on accommodation is more to spend on cake.

A show of hands please.
