I sit the other side of the counter and in the last 2 days customers have sorted all the stuff out, p/x, paying the balance, a good deal, etc in advance. But, when they came to change their insurance over by phone at the shop - my God what a scam!! An £80 odd 'admin fee', £70 interest on a £230 premium over only 6 months!!! They prey on the fact you have to be insured to ride home, the fuc*ing low life parasites...
Get your cover sorted before you pick up your new bike - get a firm quote and reference number. If you are really impulsive I believe there are cheap 7 day cover deals which will then give you the time to get a deal.
By the way, my neighbours lad, 18, has a Corsa 1.2 car thingy. Just on the road, has to use a tracker, 11pm-5am curfew, speed monitored, and 6000 miles pa max. Clean licence, cheap postcode (despite me living within it!). £3500, yes £3500 a year. How many are going to actually be insured at this rate?
Mind you, our premiums are artificially low in my opinion simply due to our body parts sacrifice. 70/80% bike accidents are caused by someone else statistically, monster injury claims. = monster no win no fee profits. Why else would I be offered £500 commission to pass on details to claim 'expeditors'? I don't btw, fu*k 'em.
However, next time you see someone acting like a dick, with no riding ability either, thank him for your cheap insurance...
