I've just moved house this weekend from Rawtenstall to Bury. At the old house the bike was kept out in the cold (and wet) in a public cark park locked to a lampost with an Almax chain. The new place has swanky electronic security gates and a nice bike very secure (and dry ) garage. It's a much nicer area but because of the BL postcode the insurance premium has shot up £300!!! That's more than double the original premium. GNNNARRR!!!
If I cancel the policy (after just over 1 month) I will lose about £150 quid from the old policy and then I have to get a new policy. If I "keep" the bike at the old address and it get's nicked from my new house I probably wouldn't be covered but then I think I would be very unlucky to get it stolen from the new place. However I should keep my third party cover when riding, no? (Insurance is only TPFT).
