I just joined this great forum after some help from dapleb (thanks).
I have owned my 1992 TDM since 1995. I bought it new for $5800.00 from the Yamaha showroom in Cleveland, OH with 22mi on it. The silly thing is i was looking for a BMW GS and could not afford it so i took this thing for a spin. I loved it enough and it brought back memories of riding my first bike a Matchless/AJS (it could have been the potholed roads of Cleveland).
Anyway, the bike has been to Baja and back, survived two deer attacks that totaled the bike and a owner that has sporadic bouts of work-induced ADD. Other bikes have come and gone (including a Moto 1000 that is missed) but this one has stayed. It is all stock except for some Fiamms, supertrapp exhausts and a center stand.
Glad ya made it aboard. Welcome.

I rode a mates MkI up and down the road (about 700yds) 15 or so years ago.
Obviously left me with a lasting impression, as I'm here now.
I've been riding 1000EXUPs, Thunderaces and paused to go kitesurfing for five years. Now I'm back!
Always planned to go back to the Pyrenees, so went out and bought a MKII.
In truth the tax man bought it.
I figured that the money was better spent sitting in my garage being tinkered with instead of sitting in an account at LloydsTSB earning nothing till next January.
Though my TDM is quite clean on the surface, it's clear that it hasn't had a great deal of day to day care showered on it.
It cost £1500. (W 2000 26000miles). Anything I thought I saved is being spent on graft and bringing it up to my spec.
The forum is really useful in this respect.
Engine is good, tyres non existent(shame), loads of extras, luggage, scottoiler, immobiliser, hand guards, belly pan, screens and an unreal amount of corrosion about the disks and calipers.
The previous owner must have been using an aggressive cleaning agent I reckon.
TYREDNGRUMPEE was my user name as my kite forum persona.

Bought the TDM as touring France soon with my partner. She's new to bikes so being a bit brave really.
As a pillion carrier, cant fault the TDM. And handles suprisingly well.

Hi all
Just picked up my 03 TDM on friday and so far so good. Put the suspension back to stock settings for the time being. It was all over the place rear preload on 1 with max comp and rebound, front were both on max and the tyre pressures were miles out. Feels like a totaly different bike now.
Had all sorts of bikes over the last few years mostly sports bikes. Will post some pics if its ever dry enough to take some.
