My Chance To Convince The Wife !
In two weeks time I have a one of chance to give my wife a nice bike experience, as a pillion, and perhaps convince her to travel more together on the TDM.

I will leave Weybride on the Saturday morning and have a nice hotel booked in the centre of Cambridge. I need to be back home on the Sunday evening.

I want to avoid motorway and I want to stop in a few nice spots. I have bought a tob box to allow some feeling of safety/comfort.

Can someone give me some advice of itinerary and any other relevant advice to make it a nice experience?

PS: I saw once an iteneray dot to dot on this forum. What website do you use for your planners? I normally can only add one or two "via" on the AA or RAC and none on Michelin

Sat nav built in the car but none on the bike
Will look at Googlemap

Since you live in Essex, could you recommend a few places between Cambridge and Canterbury? That is what I may do on the Sunday? (I kept suggesting that we should visit Canterbury and Corinne booked in Cambridge by mistake!!!). This would make a nice loop around London ..even if I end up having to take the M25 to end the journey on the Sunday eve.

That's quite a lot of mileage, if you don't want to put her off I'd suggest ignoring the Canterbury detour option.

Actually I have a DeVere hotel booked in Cambridge already
I think Poldark is right. I am wrong to consider so much mileage. It doesn't bother me (I did two 900miles week end recently) but that is not the way to treat a lady! (I am speaking about the wife ...not the bike!)

I should therefore look at going across Herts on the Saturday, then straight to Cambridge. On Sunday around Cambridge and then straight back on the main road to Weybridge.

Is there a particularly nice motorbike ride around Cambridge (perhaps with a view or a landmark?)
Same question around St Albans (first Herts town that comes through my mind after Watford!)?

Franck get her a blindfold i have a pair of oxford love handles which i wear when i take the good lady out, this in conjunction with the back box makes her feel more secure, just take it easy m8 and be sure to stop a bit more frequently, make sure you have pre-arranged signals if she wants to stop etc, and dont forget to tell to get off the kerb side of the bike, unless she has a mega life insurance policy i know these are obvious things but easily forgotten, cant help with the route sorry.
