Better make a start getting the bike ready

Anyone know which route would be the best cheapest leaving from Worksop/Sheffield ?
If you want to go non motorway, Harwich ferry to Holland cuts a fair bit of mileage. You're welcome to crash at mine the day before Ian. Moose is probably going to be here also. I've not really gone too far on the route at this stage, though.
Bugger!!

How do I amend it to include Sunday as well Lars?

Matt
If your confirmation is different to your intended booking, please contact the hotel directly. I am sure they are flexible enough to fix it.

And someone asked about non-TDM guests: We are not running a strict one-model event! Join us, tour with us, party with us. Even some of the German forum's staff have converted to "inferior" bikes in the mean time.
Have e-mailed them. Hope they can sort it!

Cheers Trev. Looks like a better option than me going from Hull to Holland (124 miles across the water )

Hmmm...... Union Jack towels or England towels ?

Sounds like a great trip that... I wish I could plan that far ahead Well maybe once it is a bit closer to that date I'll be able to sort something out. I need to find out bit more about the area... Who knows Dablik might come as well...
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

I think the England towels might be more appropriate for Germany, although the Union Jack towel was used in the Carling Black Label ad a few years ago
Got an e-mail off the hotel today

Matt
I have had a quick look at the route and ferries

Wednesday 22nd June ride down to Dover for dinner time ferry to Dunkirk Link to Norfolk line £42 return 2hr crossing, then ride to over night stop.

Thursday 23rd June ride to Masserberg

Monday 27th June leave Masserberg and travel to overnight stop

Tuesday 28th ride to Dunkirk, ferry to Dover, Ride home.

Ormskirk to Dover 293 miles

Dunkirk to Masserberg 488 miles

What has amazed me is that Norfolk line is £42

Not sure of the others , tried P&Ham, and Sea France, dates not available.
The chunnel is the same, not available.

Will be taking three days holiday one week and Two the next, if I push it, might take wednesday off aswell, to unpack.

So thats my thoughts.

Might try and book the ferry this weekend, if its that cheap.

Did a car with 2 peeps recently, £53 return to Dunkirk,

Good ships too.
Prices for this year......

Harwich to Hook of Holland £178

Hull to Zebrugge £302

Hmmmm..... Dover looks very appealing for some reason.
Don't know where you got those prices from Ian? I got £124 return inc cabin eaach way for an overnight crossing.

Tunnel will be about £60 return if you book fairly early.

Where from Trev?

I can't find anywhere that will let me book that far ahead!

Matt
Well great news i have been given the to go,

Like Ivan i have been studying ferry prices and distances to travel,

We are getting hit in the pocket because we have to get another ferry crossing,

Stena are doing a land bridge deal of £160 return for 2 boats,

Dublin to Holyhead then Harwich to Hook of Holland, just need a cabin at £24 each way,

Holyhead to Harwich is 321 miles then 416 miles from the Hook to Masserberg

That is a lot of money that could be spent on

Holyhead to Dover is 359 miles !!

It looks more sense to travel to Dover for the Dunkirk sailing at only £42 return.

I like Ivans idea of breaking up the journey to Masserberg,

So much to think about and loads of time to do it

Just from online quotes, Matt. Couldn't go as far as June, but booking 6 months in advance was giving consistent pricing. The new prices will be announced in a month or so anyway, so probably best to wait until then for more accurate prices. Single cabins start at £24 from Stenaline. The trick is to book as soon as you can once the prices have been announced. Same with Eurotunnel.

I'll be doing an overnight stopover mid route between ferry/tunnel crossing and Masserberg. Maybe Munster/Lippstadt area if I go via Hook of Holland, or iif I go via Folkestone, just onto Germany past Eupen somewhere as that's very scenic and the roads improve dramatically!
