Could There Be Some Price Fixing?
Wanted a leather jacket for months and kept visiting retailers laughing at my expectations. "you'd better reconsider your budget if you are thinking leather, mate". Irrespective of the fact that I still don't know if "mate" is a way of telling me that I am now included in a circle of friends, or if it is a way to tell me that I have proven not to be worth of the title "Sir" ...the fact is that I was frustrated to be denied my mini dream.
Yesterday I rode my bike to Infinity in Farnborough and fell in love with the Frank Thomas Bullit Retro Jacket (cafe racer) with a cost reduced from £199 down to £129.
In the evening, I was contemplating (and smelling ) my nice acquisition when I started wondering who came with the design? Is there a story around this item, etc. I logged on the web and found that all online or otherwise clothes dealers have magically made their own mind to drop their price from £199 to £129. If it is not price fixing...can someone tell me what this is?

THIS is competition. What I don't get is why the rest of the time the "recommended price" is the price implemented by the few retailers of bike clothing. Even in the perfume industry you see department stores making efforts on their margin to cut the price by a few percents. IMHO (from what I have seen) this doesn't happen in the motorcycle accessory world. Then again, I am not naive. I know that this is the way it works in "niche markets. That is the one. Type ref FTL282 on your google browser and you will find it at £129 online in a number of sites or your local "showroom" !

I like the site where a journalist comments that even if he was told that it was made by communist with kitten skin he would still like his jacket
