Killed A Pigeon This Morning
picture the scene, about 6:30am on my way to work this morning at a nice and safe speed, the road is lines with hedgerow and trees, when a pigeon fly out out the hedge straight into my path, it glanced off the front screen in an explosion of feathers.

4 thoughts raced through my head
1st thought was this is going to hurt. but supprisingly how soft and spoongy a pigeon is, not a thud.
2nd thought was whats damaged
3rd thought is it stuck onto the bike, wow how cool will the photos be :grin
4th and final thought.....oh bugger my action camera is in my top.

no damage, just bird shit and greasy marks on my screen. the most upsetting thing is I washed the bike last night

Pigeon skidmarks

Now 3 bikes I have managed to kill 3 birds.

on my bandit I killed a thrush when it flew out of a hedge and struck my shoulder. The TDM850 I found a sparrow roasting on top of the rocker cover and now a pigeon on the Tiger.

Lucky escape Dave, Treadman hit a pheasant a couple of years back. He told me it smashed all the plastics, the cost of repair almost meant the bike was beyond economical repair

Bird strike is a bloody good reason to have hand guards. Had my brake lever hit a while back. Luckily I did not come off but the quick lock up caused a brown trouser moment.
TDM 850 Loud and unusual. CRM 250r Woo hoo! DT 230 Lanza Fiddled with.... Bloody hell, is that legal? GG Randonee AKA "I didn't think that was possible".

I walk through Trafalgar often and I recently realised that their are no more pigeons there. The pigeons have been victim of a genocide. Your "accident" is further evidence of pigeon's rebellion. You can consider yourself victim of a kamikaze pigeons. I am not sure why they target bikers first.

It is so unfair and pigeons should know that the tactic has not worked to help the moskito campain against pesticides. Despite millions of kamikaze, farmers continue to eraticate insects.

Kinda bike related, but when I was at school doing a morning paper round, I took out a duck on my pedal bike.

In fact it took me out as well...

Fly out between 2 houses on my route, hit me in the side, and fell down and got caught up in the rear wheel / gears...messy

Have yet to do anything to our feathered friends while on a motorbike tho.

This must be the time of the year for mad birds .. I live in the country so all my runs start on the back roads .. great but for getting attacked by Kamikaze flying beasties... this week I hit 2 hedge sparrows.. 1 black bird and 1 pigeon... have to say they make a bigger mess than the flies
Slightly beat up Mk1 but still going

At this rate, you must have a technic. Do you normally raise your arm or your leg to hit the poor animals ?
