I want to ride my bi-syckle
QUOTE(v8guy @ Tue 22nd Aug 2006, 08:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Well, I've had coil sprung forks on mine, and now I ride with air sprung forks.

Had I bought them new, those forks would've set me back 600 notes. Worth every penny, IMO. Just like anything else, you pay for quality. My bicycle now goes round dirt track corners like it's on rails, gives incredible feedback regarding traction and the forks weigh next to nothing. Prior to that, the ~200 notes new forks just felt vague and loose on such surfaces.

Also, off road cycling tends to work the suspension units quite hard.. cheap ones won't last 5 minutes when ridden hard. Quality engineering costs money!

I guess it's not really any different to the difference between an OEM shock and a fully adjustable Ohlins unit. Ask someone with an Ohlins whether they think that the ~600 notes was worth the expense. [Image: smile.gif]

That's no surprise at all.. Orange bikes are top quality, Ridgeback are kinda average-but-ok. I don't actually have a full suss bike.. just a shite old commuter and my trusty steel Salsa hardtail XC bike; I'd not ride anything else! [Image: good.gif]

I've recently gone for an On-One Inbred single speed. Fanbloodytastic bike. Shod with Schwalbe Big Apple 2.38" slick tyres to provide some suspension. She rides brilliantly. [Image: wub.gif]
