Things have changed here over the years as well. Where 8 or 10 good sharks was the norm it's now down to a couple a day, but still decent sizes though. Thank god the porbeagles have started to show themselves more often and although at first we only caught pups, we are getting them now up to 100lb (in know, still small for a porbeagle).

Stay in touch and we'll see what we can organize for next summer!!

ps. not the best picture of a blue but this lady was a bit green and so a bit of a handfull, she put the bag out as well...
She weighed in at around 110lb if I remember well. The Common was 198lb and the Blue Fin was just a shade under 550lb, nice.

Pictures were taken on board our previous boat The Bonito, she came from Exeter originally.
Did you notice the nice blue sky in the background with the Common, got sick of all those grey ones <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I know, I know, I know off topic! Nice blue fin though, nice to see the stocks coming back up. I might be in Ireland next year to see some road racing, be nice to say hello. If your ever heading down this way, in the summer we have game fish galore. From Great frights & the odd Tiger shark down. Quite a few people are spearfishing for Southern Bluefin now, I think the record to date is over 400kg.. Feck!

Hi all,

Richard from Adelaide, South Australia. Took delivery of a 2002 TDM 900 about a week ago, traded in my old GSX750F. So far really enjoying the ride and handling of the TDM - I commute down a nice twisty hills road every (not raining) day. Excellent source of info here thanks everyone.

cheers,

Richard

Hi and Welcome Richard !

You might find there's a fair few fellow Aussies lurking around this here site. I think there's a couple of members living around Adelaide in particular !

Might be handy having a fellow TDM owner just down the road !

Hi all. I've been "lurking" here for the past year or so and I finally decided to register. I've a '95 TDM 850 which I bought in November to replace a '94 which met with a "slight" accident.
I'm from Carlow in the south-east of Ireland so I don't suppose I'll meet up with many of you. I'm 47 and just back on the bikes after about 25 years without one. The TDM was my first choice. My stomach is too big for a racer-type bike and I just don't feel safe sitting back on a cruiser. I like the "sit up and beg" riding position of the TDM.
The user-name comes from an interest I have in old bikes, the older the better.

Jimmie.
The world is full of willing people, some willing to work, the rest willing to let them.
Welcome Jimmie, as you've probably seen there's a fair few Carpedians in Ireland, so don't rule out seeing them from time to time.

Jimmie,

There are a lot of fellow TDM,ers in Ireland,

If you pin your position on the map it will show you all our locations,

We hope to have another Ireland G2G this year
Hi One and all from a new member!
I live in South Worcestershire, in the UK, near the Malvern Hills.
Passed my test for the second time in 2008 (at the age of 60) and had about 16 bikes since then.
About to chop in my Tiger 1050 for a TDM on 1st March and looking forward to a long association....

Other bikes I own:- 1980 Yamaha XS500 (don't laugh) and a 1980 XS650

TTFN!
