Yeah....need more on Sunday to complete the bigloo. Snow too powdery now and the incompleteness has made it unstable.

Went for a wander instead to check out road conditions....I think I found one.

They have been showing satellite photos of the UK here, completely white. The country looks like an iceberg, astonishing. Spoke to a mate yesterday in Scotland & he reckons he cleared 50 inches of snow off his shed roof to prevent it collapsing. Thats a lot!! Well it was only 4 below here this evening but I just rode about 20 miles on the TDM. She started second pull having not been ridden for a month (lives outside, no trickle charger and the original 1999 battery - I was very impressed). I had plenty of layers on, so the only cold bits were my first two fingertips and my neck (forgot to put on neck tube thingy ) It wasn't really through choice though; I had booked the day with a mate months ago, while Mrs Cavey is away visiting relatives, so we could check valve clearances, fit new downpipes and do a general service. He has a heated garage, all the tools you could want and loads of bike/car mechanical experience. I have a snow-covered gravel drive, the bare essentials and perseverance.

I live on a main road and he is on a bus route, so I didn't have to navigate any snowy roads, but even so there were a few sprinklings of the white stuff here and there......and a few buttock clenching moments . I passed two plodmobiles en route, and I half expected them to stop me and tell me I'm being a tw@t riding in these conditions. Hey Ho, They would have been right if they had! He dropped me back in his car and I'll drive there in the morning so I've got to get the bike back at some point Wonder what the weather forcast is (oh and get the original, ten year old downpipes off tomorrow )

Nuts all came off easy. #2 flange was stuck like a bastard on the inside stud. Took much thumping, levering and waggling to release, but got there in the end. Delkevic downpipes fitted well, although collars seemed a little on the long side. Ride home was cold - it was just starting to snow. Only one wheel spin though

Hi to you slightly chilled ones, like Harvey K we have been seeing the Nasa Pic of the Uk covered in ice and snow. Best of luck to you all in coping with that. Interesting contrast, its 43 or 44 C for us tomorrow, still a 14 year drought in Victoria and very dry country------
cheers Graeme

Weeehooo ! It's melting. Temp here has soared to 4 degrees.......still keeps snowing though

Took me 4 hours to drive 45 miles today.
I encountered pillocks like this every 100 yards
Why can't they stop one side or the other and let people with man cars (and the foresight to get snow tyres fitted and carry a folding shovel) get past instead of making me get out of my warm dry car to dig them out and push them to get them moving.
