Give me the Jota or Le Mans.........I'd sell my soul (and the wife) for either!
Maybe one day , when the kids aren't bleeding me dry!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd--> Same here. Laverda or Guzzi, if someone gave me one of the others I'd sell it and buy 15 decent modern bikes with the profits.

So can I have this one for being a smartarse?
Please?? <!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Geeze, If I gave a bike to every smartass on Carpe I would go broke!
Yes you can have it.
trivia:
The Henderson KJ (The 'Henderson 4') was <i>'the'</i> police motorcycle of the 1920's-30's in the US.
It was the only bike that could catch the souped up rum-runner's cars of prohibition.
Conveniently available with left hand throttle so you could squeeze off a clean shot without slowing down.
I like me classics, call me a young fogey if you like, but there's something about the sound of an old british twin with open pipes on song...
Would love an early goldie, but unfortunately can't afford one...
Keep telling the missus that it would be a sound investment (pension and all that) but she's having none of it!
Cheers

Now this is a classic.
The Brough called itself 'The Rolls-Royce' of motorcycles'...
and Rolls had <b>no problem</b> with that. The ones with the J.A.P. engines were masterpieces.
When was the last time you saw a production engine with jewelry quality engraving?
No, not japanese engines... the builder's initials.
Oh it was the bike T.E. Lawrence killed himself on.
I thik i'm in love with the guzzi v8, or the 1957 Gilera 4, or the 1967 MV 3 Honda 4, or the 1965 Benelli 4, or the 1966 MV4, or the 1965 Reid Redman....oh bugger it, i want all of them!
Listen to the modern ones at the bottom of the page to hear just how bad we have it these days. Bloody noise regulations

From memory -
These bikes were built at Superior Works, Basford, Nottingham. Just beside the railway!
I remember the place well as I used to work just down the road, at a weighing machine company - no not Avery.
The Superior Works were still there in the early 70's but weren't making bikes then - don't know what they did actually.
Not sure what happened after that - or before that really.
I expect there's loads of facts on'tinternet!
