Actually I'm not sure I really understand the question. I feel sure the "floaty" bit are the rings that mount the main disc to the carrier centre which is bolted to the wheel. I would of thought all movement on that would be lateral rather than rotational?...I'm prepared to learn on this!!!
If you mean what I think you mean then not a bloody lot. You got probs with the new Wavey's?

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

i think they only "<i>jiggle</i>" a bit more left and right then the non floaters which only <i>nudge </i> MAYBE 1mm
but NOTHING rotation wise ...

Yeah I think the rebuild rotors are not as good a fit as they should be, think I am going to the disc manufactures up tomorrow. I was expecting some lateral movement but not rototational.

Stock Yam discs have very little "jiggle" but aftermarket and race discs have loads but the securing (usually alloy) "bobbins" need replaced often.
They float to stop discs warping under extreme usage. i.e. two up, nipper in the top box and a fortnight's luggage strapped on going down the Alps
Less jiggle if they are semi-floating, more if they are fully-floating. Both work as well as each other, far as I know. Fixed disks have to be thicker and heavier to resist warping as the bit with the pads on gets very hot and the bit attached to the wheel does not. Can not imagine a serious manufacturer still using fixed disks on the front..................................................... okay, Triumph bloody Tiger.

The bobbin's that were supplied are stainless steel, but I spoke to the guy's at Stealth products and Ive to send them back to them with the old rotors and they will try to sort it.
