Had a Talbot 30yrs ago, and upon changing brake pads/shoes I was told there were 3 manufacturers of brake systems fore and 3 aft so 1/9 chance of getting it right before disassembly....

 

Its particularly good when the manufacturer doesnt know which combo they have put on a certain ve-hickle.

Just catching up with 20 years of neglect/incompetence with the odd bit of routine maintenance thrown in.  

 

Noticed the battery was 6 years old and from a Toyota...so probably second hand when installed in Pug.  New battery arrived today and old juan will be relegated to random 12V lock up duties.

Just caught up with this, why only 2 mots in 20 years?

It's had MOT tests every year but only 2 with no advisories.

Nah. It just needs a ketchup on the care and attention that has been missed over a few decades. Brilliant cars these.

The Pug and Slug will easily last until diesel brums are banished from the roads....then have to convert em to lecky I guess.

I have patched the crap exhaust a few times but now it's time fur a noice stainless system rather than faffing aboooot with mild steel junk.

The bits ain't a great deal more than the crap stuff dabbers. The mild sheet ain't lasting long at all. I decided next failure on both slug and pug and I would stainless them both. Pug gone at joint to manly fold.... gone and patched both sides of cat. Going mid pipe to silencer both joins...so that's that. Binnnnnnn



I had a Google and it's anudder 8 years till no more new diesels...so gotta last a while yet before leccy.
