Checking oil level
Hi I only took the drain plug from the left side bottom of the engine , and removed oil filler, re fitted ran engine for 5 min sounded ruff

All the oil seems to be stuck on the top of the engine as the glass reads full but no oil in the sump , frightened to run it dry

Could something be blocked

Should I use engine flush ? Thanks in advance
I would double check the filter before anything else and completely drop the oil, look for any nasties in it.

The second drain plug is right beside the Starship Enterprise filter housing.

IIRC the oil filter hole should be at the bottom.

I'm not a fan of engine flush products. I occasionally fill the bike up with an appropriate el cheapo oil after dropping the old stuff, still using the old filter, and get it up to temperature with a short ride. Get back home, drop the cheap oil and put some decent stuff and a new filter in. I re-use the el cheapo a few times. Scottish ancestors.

My bike has 70'000+km's on it and the oil stays remarkably clean doing this.
TDM 850 Loud and unusual. CRM 250r Woo hoo! DT 230 Lanza Fiddled with.... Bloody hell, is that legal? GG Randonee AKA "I didn't think that was possible".
You might have fitted the oil filter in the wrong way round.
When I was new to the world of TDM's and knew nothing at all about them, I went to a lot of time and trouble fitting an oil pressure switch to a Niner.

Requiring the machining of a brass 90 degree adaptor to clear the oil tank.

Only afterwards, did I then learn Niners don't use oil from this forum. Should have done more reading first  Rolleyes
