fitted a new battery and took it out for a couple of miles, the new battery has made it lots more powerful and now it does an extra 10mph at 50mph just by turning the throttle a little bit more

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.
