Got my 2013 900 there, salesman knew nothing about bikes and even less about the TDM. Basically take it or leave it, no odds to me and no bargaining to be had on the price, oh and £99 administration fee

Generally take reviews with a pinch of salt, but many are truly awful, waiting weeks for a bought bike, once bought they give it a look over and only then order any parts, customer services non existent etc, no answer from the phone and so on, suspect there may be some good reviews but peeps don't usually write those do they. anyhow a look around costs nowt.

1991 MK1 in need of some TLC watch this space   Sorted and on the Road Mick   it's the bike that Jack built  Gone to Heaven Â
Almost prepped the 900 for the weekend, Chain checked and lubed, shock spring set to max etc etcc.
Â
It's a bit weird and suits the 900 rider rep I suppose , but my best mate from school is losing his eyesight has asked for a weekend away on the bike to catch the views. We'll be two up, sharing a twin room (he didn't know to book singles...)
Â
We're going from Livingston to Sterling, up to the Green Welly for lunch. Then on past Loch Ness to Inverness, beers and live music on Saturday night.
Returning on Sunday through the Cairngorms for the scenery, depending on comfort/awkwardness level, maybe stop at Anstruther for a fish supper on the way back.
Â
Realised while setting the bike up that the shock isn't putting much effort into damping on compression. Probably a bit late now to replace it before the trip so I'll put it on the list of things to do
He might prefer the less busy Real Food cafe on the other side, a bit East. Food's good too.
Â
You OK for luggage? I could loan Givi stuff.
Â
Nice one Steve
Yeah we're only going overnight so my baby Givi E21's, 1 each , are fine.
Â
I've been meaning to get an intercom/phone/music interface for a while so I bought a pair of Cardo Scala Q1 units.on offer at £100, just been working through the setting up.
Â
Funny thing, in 2018 I was at the TT on a campsite in the south of the island and in the building where the kitchen was they had set up a table with mains extensions and multiple outlet units where people could charge their gadgets, it was totally swamped and I remember thinking to myself that I'll never go into that way of life, getting tied by technology isn't for me really.
Â
However I was wrong !.. On charge at the moment - 2 Drift Ghost cameras, 2 wrist mounted remote controls for the cameras, two Scala units, another camera on charge, a phone and a battery powerbank.
Â
why not !
Â
We're only out for one night....but if I went and didn't have a camera I'ld be pee'd off if there was a chance for some good pictures but the camera was at home.
Quote:What's the opinion on fork oil ? standard 10W or go up to 15 w for more damping ?
Â
I'm currently experimenting.
in one leg I have 30W, and in the other, standard ATF
the 30W gives a good improvement in rebound damping, but the leg with ATF remains supple. The two adjusters give me the option to tweak the firm and the soft legs independently..
I've got a feel which I like now, it doesn't dive quickly under braking, and doesn't rebound straight back up afterwards, while being soft and supple enough for a comfortable ride
