If you've got an euro numberplate then I think your covered, if not you can pick one up in he shop on the ferry if required and stick it on your pannier when we are disembarking

Some advice needed from you seasoned travellers please....... what level of bike security when touring is the norm in your opinion? I have a disk lock that goes everywhere with me but is it overkill to pack a chain and padlock too?
At risk of doing something exciting!
