Thats wot i said. the most farcical one ive heard of (and this is true) . If you were to go through the Mersey Tunnel a few years back, above your head as you approached the toll booths , in Big Writing was the words "MANNED BOOTH" . now to me this meant if you needed change you went to a "MANNED BOOTH"
But alas , not anymore , if you need change now you go to a "STAFFED BOOTH" Some cretinous female councillor found this offensive. so (no doubt at the tax payers expense) all the signs were taken down
and replaced. to appease the silly cow. no wonder the toll went up from a pound to £1.30. not that i pay it of course, cos bikes are free.
