Now Now Now, a few years ago, well before face masks were de-rigueur, I was asked by Kevin Raymond (did a test on TDM's, BIKE April issue, 1991) to scribble something about 80's bike life, along with that, I sent some words about TDM's as Practical Sportsbike was doing an article on stand-out Yamaha's and sent it to Mark Graham the then Features Editor (I think). The 80's bit got printed but the TDM one didn't make the deadline so I was told they will keep in for future use. I recognise some of my wordings on there (not enough to claim bragging rights 
)Â and I wonder if they found that article in the files and thought hmmm, thats a cool bike to feature. It's a bike worthy of a special mention, especially as the MK1's are now getting on a bit but still going strong.
