pretty awful solution     compared with some sexy oled display where we can add a bunch of data

 

- water temp 

- oil temp 

- oil pressure ... some more bells & whistles

Depending on your skills, you can read I think RPM, and water temperature from the digital K-Line serial line going between the dash and the ECU.

Speed data is available too but that's encoded in a peculiar way, good luck

 

I read it bit-banging in assembly on a Microchip PIC in the end, but got there using Pulseview to record the output from a Chinesium analyser, like this one https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/usi...seview/all.
