Replacing Chain Question

I have an Ognibene chain rivet tool. Looks different to the one on the link but I think it works on the same principle. I have learnt from before to at least measure the width of the other links and try and get the rivet to that width so it doesn't bind. I dont know if thats the correct way but seems logical. I see from your profile that you are/were from Rushden. do you know if the Angel Pub is still there? Had some wild nights in there in the 80's
