No, take the plugs out, hold then in a soft jaw vice, pliers or anywhere that keeps them upright and apply the flame to the electrodes. You will see the carbon/fuel deposits burning off leaving the electrode and top of the treads clean as a whistle. Apparently this is the method engineers use. If you just use a brass brush (as I used to) it can damage the tip and does not clean as effectively as heat. Im not talking glowing red or even close to that, just a few second and the old deposits disappear, the residual heat in the plugs after burning also helps start the bike.
