Diy Fire Pit
Usually we would be visiting friends at Easter, sitting around a camp fire at a cabin in a remote skiing area toasting marshmallows, having beers and Jägermeister. Enter corona ...

But at least we could have a fire, if nothing else. So I got myself a defunct washing machine for free, ripped out the drum and bolted on legs made from an old trampoline safety net no longer needed after I sunk the trampoline into the ground - bolts coming from the innards of the washing machine. Time spent to find and collect washer, demolish it and bolt on legs less than 3 hours. Cost: About 1 £ in diesel for collecting the washer.

It performed above all expectations, burning really well while limiting sparks and sputters to near nothing. And it is stainless, unlike the powder coated pits available in the stores. Should last us a good many seasons, I think.
