Apparently the 'fruit loaf and cheese' mix is a Yorkshire 'thing' Chris - I read about it in James Herriot about 40 years ago and tried it. 

 

Clare, coming from Thornaby-on -Tees, was already aware of this joint delicacy ... 

 

We have eaten them together ever since
