<{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->On my previous TDM850 MKII i also had a HID conversion kit installed (and I have one fitted on my new CBF1000), It was a great improvement to the standard filament bulb. I installed the ballast igniter and relay behind the right fairing next to the rectifier, the job was very easy and very straighforward.
If the beam isn't aiming too high and you can adjust that easily the HID system doesn't blind other drivers or at least its not worse than standard bulbs aiming too high.
The HID system offers much greater intensity of light but also because of the color of the light, white lines and reflectors are much more clearly seen in a greater distance.
I think its worth the money as its a great safety improvement.
It draws 10amps (about 120W) initially for 3-5 minutes and after that about 3amps (thats why its rated 35W).
You can find HID conversion kits starting from 100euros.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Where can these HID conversion kits be purchased in the UK or Europe?
