interesting one - in the normal scheme of events, ie getting pulled for speeding etc, then the evidence would probably be inadmissible (non coroborated, uncallibrated, right to avoid self incrimination etc.) however, if things got a little more sinister, i.e the investigation of a fatal accident then I would imagine a coroner may take this into account (as they do with phone records for text messages etc.)
