Took the 2.2 Omega in for MOT and it failed on a cracked exhaust pipe. Took it to Quick fit and the guy in the quick fit uniform says "looks like you need a full system, thats £650.00 mate" he went on to state the link pipe on the Cat was damaged and pointed out all sorts of rubber shocks and stuff further adding "if I could save anything I would mate" Leave it with me and I'll order the parts". I pointed out that the end can was fine but he stated it didnt matter as the pipe to it was damaged so the lot would need doing.
Took it around the corner to another garage and a scruffy dirt covered chap says "I'll have a look for you sir" "Your cats fine and so is your end can thats £225.00 for the rest and I have them in stock. It will be ready in 45 minutes. The same chap showed me around the exhaust and even went to the trouble of showing me the knackered bits and explaining why they needed replacing. Just goes to show the biggest is not necessarily the best!
