Triumph Bonneville
During lockdown With 3 holidays cancelled, no pub, no petrol in the car to pay for I decided to buy a Triumph Bonneville T100. If Carpers are interested Ill post up a review vs a 9er. But I dont want to waste my breath, Is there any interest?
Yes.

2002 TDM 900 Red/Yellow Cocktail (it's yellow)., biggified some
Yes let's see it
Yes please. Been struggling with seat height on my 850 as I have a dodgy hip. Wondered what Bonnie might be like.
OK I'll start putting thoughts together and get back.   :good:

Yes from me too :good:

........sort of......because, like

and , whilst I still hug my 4tx with love & devotion, and whist, on the move , it’s an unmitigated pleasure,

to push it around, and back it into city parking spaces (v.short legs) it sometimes is beginning to feel rather heavy....

-and also I get zero nostalgia-rush from the Bonneville, in spite of my great age

it seems to me lacking in any particular style & character....relying mainly its name and origins for sales appeal

so interested to hear what the riding experience is like.....does the magic suddenly blossom?

a mate has the thruxton so has a bit of nostalgia attached to it.

Looks great and gets lots of glances when we did the Pyrenees a few years ago.

my Tdm got the most peeps asking about the bike though much to the chagrin of my mates

"As I Lay Rubber down to street, I pray for traction I can keep. But if I skid and begin to slide, please dear god protect my ride"

Mods; Oil pressure switch, neoprene rear inner mudguard, scottoiler, highway pegs,  fenda extenda, 1999 carbs and airbox, Kais suspension setup, later clutch springs, LED lamps, Metmachex swingarm, Hagon Shock, Oxford heated grips, 4 way fused accessory Bus, 17" 3CV front wheel, Michellin R6 tyres, GPS speedo, 5' ignition advance.
:munching_out:
I'm not interested in buying a Bonny or the like but I'm always interested in comparisons with the 9'er.

As TKH says I've no interest in the triumph but it's always good to hear reasons to stick with what I have.
Current toys: '99 XT600E, 2000 4TX, '82 Princess 30DS (where the username comes from), No longer a '03 Fazer thou.

Save the planet, it's the only one with beer!
While we're on the subject of nostalgia and new 'brit' lookalike bikes, anybody got any thoughts on the Kwack w800?

Fuel Cans, Baglux tank cover, Givi E21 panniers, Givi Flow top box, Yamaha centre stand, Garmin Zumo SatNav,, Givi engine bars, Barkbuster S1 handguards, Powerbronze Fender Extender and Headlight guards.

I've nothing to offer on the w800 but a friend once briefly owned a w650 a few years ago. It looked the part but it had quite high rise bars which made it unstable at speed. He swopped the bars for lower ones but he said it still didn't feel stable above 70 ish. They might well have improved things now.

Watch this. It is good and very funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSE73I4LXe4
2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.

I like the bevel drive cam of the W800, different. They seem to make retro's all 47hp A2 bikes, there must be extra horses in there waiting to burst out.
